But, what do Americans REALLY think? There are those who think that George Bush should be impeached for sending American troops into Iraq. I, for one, am among those people. Why in the heck have we been dumping billions of our hard earned dollars into building the most formidable nuclear arsenal in the entire world over the past fifty years, only to have some self-serving, special-interest political jerk send Americans half way around the world to risk their lives draining a terrorist infested Islamic septic tank. That's obscenely ridiculous! We've got enough stuff sitting in silos in Kansas, alone, to extend the Gulf of Aden (Arabian Sea) all the way up to the Russian border. It's a win-win situation! We dispose of the world's primary source of terrorists, rude taxi drivers and disgruntled convenience store clerks, and the Russkies get some nice new oceanfront real estate. The best part is, we can still get all the oil we need using "offshore oil rigs" like the ones in the Gulf of Mexico. I don't know
why we even have to be aware that people like these exist - much less
have our sensibilities offended by detailed accounts of their demise.
As far as I'm concerned, watching all that "Iraqi War" stuff
on television is like staring into the bowl as you flush the toilet. I
don't go in for the sort of phony "knee-jerk patriotism" we're
seeing so much of lately. I just want things restored to the way they
were before September 11, 2001, especially with regard to my rights and
privacy, as quickly and quietly as possible. Take out as much of Islam
as is necessary to assure that the threat of Islamic terrorism never again
arises, sweep their ashes under history's rug, and let's get on with our
lives. |
